Duterte in the ICC: Sitting Senators, Ex-Justice Secretary, Ex-Police Chiefs Named as Co-Perpetators
"Duterte and his co-perpetrators shared a common plan or agreement to ‘neutralize’ alleged criminals in the Philippines" through murder, the ICC's Pre-Trial Chamber I said in the document.
The Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court has just publicly released what it called a “public lesser redacted” version of the charge sheet against former President Rodrigo Duterte.
“At least between 1 November 2011 and 16 March 2019, Duterte and his co-perpetrators shared a common plan or agreement to ‘neutralise’ alleged criminals in the Philippines (including those perceived or alleged to be associated with drug use, sale or production) through violent crimes including murder,” the ICC document said.
Among those whose names were made public are:
Ronald ‘Bato’ DELA ROSA, former chief of the Philippine National Police and the key enforcer of Duterte’s “war on drugs” that resulted in the extrajudicial killing of thousands of Filipinos
Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ GO, Duterte’s personal aide and special assistant, among other positions
Vitaliano AGUIRRE II, former secretary of the Department of Justice
Vicente DANAO, former chief of the Davao City Police Office when Duterte was mayor, among other positions
Camilo CASCOLAN, chief of the Davao Regional Police, among other positions
Oscar ALBAYALDE , former chief of police, among other positions
Dante GIERRAN, former Davao Regional Director of the National Bureau of Investigation and later director of the NZI
Isidro LAPEÑA, former Davao City Police chief, among other positions
Dela Rosa and Go are incumbent senators.
